  • Age range: Grades 3-12
  • Self-paced
  • Core Curriculum: Math, Language Arts, Socials Studies and Science

Many homeschooling families appreciate the “old school” correspondence curriculum that was in use before digital technology and the Internet. Starline Press is pleased to offer this still-popular choice to homeschoolers from grades 3 to 12 providing the core curriculum of Math, English/Language Arts (including analysis of news media), Social Studies, (including cultural geography), and Science. All Starline books are hard copy, Old School, with old fashioned standards — and proud of it.

A concentrated perusal of the curriculum across multiple grades reveals that the instruction is in-depth and produces a complete knowledge base by grade 8. This strong instruction continues through grades 9-12 and there is a wide choice of high school electives, including Business, Personal Finance, Comparative Religion, Drivers Ed, Automotive Technology, Home Economics and more!

Starline’s huge line of great courses– some that will bring a student who is behind in a topic, such as English or Math up to speed with a “Rapid Review” that returns the user to a middle school grade level and brings him/her up to 8th grade level and helps them prepare for high school work.

Electives include, Comparative Religion, for 11-12th graders to gain a world view of the varied ways to view practices of faith. On the practical side, Starline offers a complete, multi-volume course in Automotive Technology; Consumer Math addresses basic life skills that most schools do not teach, such as check writing, bank statements and even basics in geometry; Personal Finance I & II serves as an advanced course in more topics most schools do not address — learning about debt, saving vs. spending, stock market, stocks and bonds, taxes and elements of financial planning; Spanish I & II work from basics to in-depth grammar and mechanics of this ever-growing language. This is not an exhaustive description – you have to visit the “Electives” section of the website to view the entire line of courses.

Starline’s Catalog includes the detailed Scope & Sequence and is sure to whet the learning appetite of any student who is ready to be in a self-paced, independent study atmosphere. Assessments are offered throughout, to ensure that each student achieves mastery before moving on to another level of topic study. The curriculum is complete, but designed for parents to participate in teaching their children each day, assigning the work and then overseeing its completion.

Each course is offered for one semester or one full year, depending on the subject. Grades 3-8 require 12 units per year and grades 9-12 require 10 units per year.

Starline offers a rich and powerful curriculum that provides a very full education to homeschooling families who desire their children to possess knowledge and thinking skills for a lifetime.

Please visit the main website and the catalog website — both shown above — to view all that Starline Press has to offer your family and your child. Please visit https://www.rainbowresource.com/ or the Starline Online store, https://stores.starlinepress.com/ when you are ready to order.
